Essie Jain

Essie Jain is an English singer-songwriter born and raised in London, who is now based in New York.

She comes from a vibrant family of musicians, artists and healers, plays multiple instruments and is classically trained in voice. She has drawn critical acclaim for her work as a singer, writer and performer, and has released five studio albums worldwide;

Her first full-length record, We Made This Ourselves, was released in 2006 and drew comparisons to the British singers Sandy Denny and Vashti Bunyan. In 2011, she started her own record label and released Until the Light of Morning, an album of original lullabies for parent and child.

In 2013, she released All Became Golden, an audiovisual project and the creative vision of Essie and filmmaker Natalie Johns. It was recorded in front of a live studio audience with a classical orchestra.

Throughout this time making music, Essie has also spent many years practicing yoga and is a certified teacher. As her worlds of yoga and music collided, her two passions joined together, and in 2015 she released To Love, an album of modern chants, movements and meditations. Then a journey began to bring these songs of the heart out into the world through healing events, retreats and live accompaniment for yoga classes.

In 2016, Essie began writing and recording the Musical Meditation Series with her husband and longterm collaborator Patrick Glynn. Inspired by the improvisations of their live performances, they recorded 5 songs; Harmony, Grace, Peace, Unity and Synergy. The series features several guest musicians and was released over the course of 2016/17.

Essie brings her Voice and the Harmonium to meet Patrick's Guitar and Pedals, and together they share their beautiful music, recording, performing live and curating events.
